Prostatic Artery Embolization: Case report
Here are a few case studies of people with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
The images have been reconstructed in 3D by our interventional radiologists to show you the prostatic arteries in detail.
Clinical case 1
Patient:
Male, 49 years old
Symptoms:
- Multiple urination
- Multiple night-time awakenings
- Low urine stream
Clinical case 2
Patient:
Male, 65 years old
Symptoms:
- Multiple urination. Pollakiuria
- Multiple night-time awakenings
- Low urine stream
Remarks after CT scan of prostatic arteries:
There is communication between the prostatic artery and the penile artery. This communication is blocked by coils (see photo 3) so that the microbeads injected during embolization reach the prostate and not the penis.
